some of the ladies that make camp so special.  last week, i was their counselor for a day and a half.  it was awesome!!  (carrie, their "real counselor," is wearing the UTC shirt.)   playing games, chatting it up, laughing, and sharing the truth with them made my week.  reminded me again of why i love camp: getting to know, having fun with, and sharing jesus with campers.  wahoo!

why i love this place...

thoughts as i sat in big assembly yesterday (the final epic event of the week):

singing, dancing, cheering, yelling, screaming.
hundreds of campers decked out in their camp colors.
a sea of blue, orange, red and blue, and black and green filled the church auditorium.
parents sitting in the back taking it all in.  some even standing against the rear walls.
there is something about this place.
it is electric.

i love camp all-american.

not just for the fun.
but the reason behind it all.

one parent said she liked it.
it brought tears to her eyes.

this is what it is about.
repping Jesus Christ.
going big and doing it right.  not for us but for the glory of our Christ.

i love saturdays.  especially those spent sleeping in.  lazy ones are the best.  eating and chillin' at chick-fil-a with good buddies ain't too bad either...

p.s.  one of the many reasons i am pumped for ozone - we have the best cheer in all of caa.  hands down:  "everybody, are you ready?  we gonna bump jesus christ in the chevy.  we gonna swerve to the left.  we gonna swerve to the right.  we gonna show everybody how we reppin' jesus christ.  what."

CORE 2010

Last summer, I connected, oversaw, related, and energized (CORE) these nine amazing girls.   We were all so crazy different!  Put us together though and something beautiful happened - a smorgasbord of laughter, love, unity in Christ, encouragement, the word, prayer, learning, growing, discipleship, friendship, funny stories, and great memories.  

And, it was good - real good.  "It's all good when you think about it, well you can laugh about it.  It's all good."  I concur.

Gets me pumped about this summer (2011) - year two of being a CORE leader.  

Starting from scratch once again - new counselors and a new camp. 

Jehovah-Jireh.  the Lord will provide.
